The conclusion drawn by this article, citing Hans Bernd Felken, board member of the Bündnis für Familie, is particularly important to us. Other entrepreneurs should also have the courage to put family-friendliness into practice — something many already do, which is far easier than many think, and to show it openly. Only in this way will it be possible to change today's working world. In view of the demographic change ahead, this is a major task and challenge. The Steffen & Partner group was honoured with the BAFF award in the 20-80 employees category. BAFF stands for "Bocholter Auszeichnung für FamilienFreundlichkeit" (Bocholt Award for Family Friendliness). The award recognises both general family friendliness within a company and individual measures and projects that particularly promote family-friendly working conditions. It is initiated by the [Bündnis für Familie in Bocholt e.V.](http://www.buendnis-fuer-familie-in-bocholt.de/ "Bündnis für Familie in Bocholt") and, following its first presentation in 2011, was awarded for the second time. The award ceremony took place in a festive setting alongside the "Company of the Year" prize initiated by Stadtsparkasse Bocholt on 10 October 2013 at Hotel Residenz.

WDR reported live on its Lokalzeit programme on 10 October 2013 at 7:30 p.m. from the presentation of the BAFF, the Bocholt Award for Family Friendliness. Earlier that afternoon, WDR produced a feature at our offices in Bocholt. Astrid Ritte, Steuerberaterin (German Certified Tax Advisor), head of the annual financial statements department and soon to be a mother of two, is interviewed here. In the evening, Anke Büker, partner, Steuerberaterin and mother within our group of companies, answers questions from presenter Eva Maria Schmelter in the live WDR broadcast. Bocholt Summer Evening
We wanted the event to be an evening on which 99 guests would discuss demographic change in mid-sized urban centres such as Bocholt with Christian Lindner. In the end, there were far more guests, it turned into a proper summer evening, and just.bocholt reported on it with many pictures – great fun.

As with every successful evening, the guests contributed significantly to its success. This was also the case at our Bocholt summer evening. You brought a great deal of interest and a strong culture of debate, and above all a wonderful atmosphere. For that, a sincere compliment and thank you. Our guest speaker Christian Lindner took ample time for individual conversations and discussions with you. Bocholt in the future? Anke Büker envisions luxury wheelchairs with built-in mini-bars, with no one around to push them. That sets the tone: the topic of the summer evening is the present and future challenges facing mid-sized urban centres. For this, you need a real crowd-puller with a tattoo. Christian Lindner, state chairman of the FDP in North Rhine-Westphalia. He was the keynote speaker at our Bocholt Summer Evening. Top Tax Advisors Reveal Their Tricks, Tax Return 2011
You can buy books for tips and tricks from tax advisors, including this little volume to which we — or more precisely, our Anke Büker — were able to contribute. We were glad to do so. The usual sales pitch is that a book is cheaper than a tax advisor's fee. In your place, we would simply ask. We, for instance, have not raised our billing rates in over ten years.

And contrary to the view that tax consulting, legal advice and auditing are dry matters, these young wild ones say their profession is rock 'n' roll — something they truly care about; a profession in which they want to make a difference every day.
