A luxury wheelchair with a built-in mini-bar in the garage, but no one to push it. That is how Anke Büker, Steuerberaterin (German Certified Tax Advisor) and partner of the Steffen & Partner Group, sums up the theme of the Bocholt Summer Evening: demographic change in mid-sized urban centres such as Bocholt. Where will we stand in twenty years? More than the 99 invited guests turned up. This was not down to opening speeches or summer evenings, but to him: Christian Lindner, state chairman of the FDP in North Rhine-Westphalia. And, thanks to WDR presenter Steffi Neu, he revealed straight away: he has a tattoo. The intended topic was also discussed in depth. The panel debating with Christian Lindner was a high-calibre line-up. The participants were: Ludger Dieckhues, managing director of Bocholt city marketing and the Bocholt economic development agency; Jürgen Elmer, managing director of BEW; Jürgen Paschold, regional managing director of the employers' association; Prof. Dr. Horst Toonen, dean of the mechanical engineering faculty in Bocholt; and Josef Terhardt, managing director of Hübers Verfahrenstechnik Maschinenbau GmbH. Reason enough for the BBV to report on 7 July 2012 on our Bocholt Summer Evening under the title "Crowd-Puller with a Tattoo". You can find the article here. We hope you enjoy reading it — but we promise you even more enjoyment if you join us at our next event. You are, of course, already cordially invited. [wpfilebase tag=file id=9 /]

Crowd-Puller with a Tattoo
Bocholt in the future? Anke Büker envisions luxury wheelchairs with built-in mini-bars, with no one around to push them. That sets the tone: the topic of the summer evening is the present and future challenges facing mid-sized urban centres. For this, you need a real crowd-puller with a tattoo. Christian Lindner, state chairman of the FDP in North Rhine-Westphalia. He was the keynote speaker at our Bocholt Summer Evening. A distinguished Bocholt panel discussed the topic with Christian Lindner. The BBV reported on 7 July 2012.
