Many people think our profession is dry. With the event "Goose and Dance," we wanted to show our clients that we genuinely enjoy our work and that it is anything but dry. Humour is a proven means to that end. Take, for example, the letter to the tax office that reads: "In the morning the sun shines on me, and in the evening the moon. What shines on you is entirely irrelevant to me." The letter was written by one of our clients — that much may be revealed — before we were given the chance to advise them. At the tax office, nothing shines on anyone any more, irrelevant or otherwise. And the sun and the moon still rise and set. Beyond that, there were a number of other curiosities to report. And since there is more to life than work, we paired the humour with a goose dinner and a dance lesson for our guests. The geese arrived freshly roasted, butter-tender and crisp — just as they should be — from the Biometzgerei Jansen in Bocholt. The red cabbage prepared by Jansen himself and the homemade dumplings made the meal a delight. The whole evening was rounded off by the excellent red wines from Heiko Mätzig of Haus der Weine, Bocholt. It appears it was a successful evening. In any case, just.bocholt reported on the event in December 2010, so in the accompanying article you will find a few photos as a memento — or a foretaste of the next event. Goose and Dance
"In the morning the sun shines on me, and in the evening the moon. What shines on you is entirely irrelevant to me" — so reads a letter to the tax office. That evening, we had occasion to report on this and several other curiosities from the legal and tax advisory profession. We enjoyed an excellent autumn goose dinner and completed a short dance lesson. It appears to just.bocholt that, despite our line of work, things are not at all dry around here. A few photos in the accompanying article may serve as evidence. It seems to us — or rather, we hope — that it was a successful client event.
